EcoRaster for Cattle Producers

Anti-slip footing

Handling livestock safely and efficiently becomes much easier if your cattle are confident with their footing. The EcoRaster solution ensures traction and support and is part of a mud free solution for your cattle handling area, alleys, gates.

EcoRaster can also be used in and around feeding stations to minimize loss of feed resulting from livestock trampling the feed into the mud.

And because the EcoRaster sheets lock together to create a continuous surface it is easy to clean.

EcoRaster for Cattle Producers

Creating dry, secure footing for your livestock may require no more than the installation of EcoRaster on top of your existing, smoothly graded earthen base. This assumes however that the existing ground readily absorbs the rainfall. If this is true the EcoRaster will ensure that the rainwater permeates the tile but supports the livestock to ensure they do not mix the dry top footing in with the water soaked soil below.

Option Two adds a small (approximately 3/4″ to 1″) layer of screenings to ensure the EcoRaster has continuous support and good drainage. This system includes a layer of geosysnthetic fabric which allows water to soak into the earth below while restricting soil percolation up into the footing.

Option Three includes the addition of a 3″ to 6″ layer of gravel to assist in supporting the EcoRaster layer as well as providing additional drainage. Additionally this design includes an optional top layer of footing material. In this case about 1″ of sand of similar footing material.
