What’s in a name?
Well, when your name is "Hi-Hog", it is not surprising that there is a story behind the name.
While the exact origin of the expression, “high on the hog”, is not known, it has been linked to the idea that the best cuts of meat are found high on the hog (Pork loin and ham are cut from high on the pork as opposed to low cuts such as hocks and trotters). Indeed, this was the intent of Albert Kneeshaw, Hi-Hog’s founder.
When asked about the name of the company, Albert would respond, “when you go high on the hog you go first class”. From the very first day it was Albert’s goal to build products that he, and his customers, would be proud of.
