CUSTOM CALVING BARN DESIGN FEATURING THE HI-HOG CALVING MATERNITY TUB
A well-designed calving barn can mean the difference between a smooth delivery and a dangerous situation. Hi-Hog’s Calving Maternity Tub provides a secure, controlled space that allows ranchers to manage cows with confidence.
At the core of this system is the Hi-Hog #125 Calving Trimming Chute, known for its versatility and complete cow access. The #125 comes standard with Hi-Hog's Self Catching Calving Headgate. Set the limit chain, the cow moves forward, it's shoulders engage the Headgate and the cow is firmly captured.
The split-panel design makes it easy to reach the cow from all sides, allowing for:
- Calving assistance
- Medical care and treatments
- Hoof trimming and maintenance
The Crowding Tub Section of Hi-Hog's Maternity Tub is constructed with a #230- 66” high sheeted Curved Panels. The panel is held in position by a #270 Overhead Tub Spreader.
The crowding tub is a very high pressure area. To ensure your crowding tub is secure, the #280 Pivot Gate frame and the overhead spreaders are made with provisions to anchor in place. If your tub happens to be located on a concrete pad simply anchor through the base plates and if not, the supplied 24" ground stakes will prevent the tub from shifting.
The solid pivot gate comes mounted in its own frame. The hinges are 2-7/8” OD x 4” and come with grease fittings for outstanding year round performance. The spring loaded pivot gate latch is rubber coated for smooth, quiet and secure operation. The latch is reversible for clockwise or counter-clockwise operation.
