Overhead Spreaders are used in the construction of temporary handling systems and portable corrals. In situations where you are not using anchored posts you may need to use overhead alley spreaders to keep your alley panels secure and in line.
Hi-Hog’s overhead alley spreaders provide a solid frame for use in the heaviest pressure areas. The frame is constructed of 2 3/8″ OD, 0.125 wall steel tubing. Both end verticals come with connectors on three sides offering excellent connect-ability. The connectors will work with any of Hi-Hog's panels, panels with man gates, U-frames or frame & gates.
Hi-Hog offers two styles of Overhead Alley Spreader:
The one piece alley spreaders are primarily 8' in height. The one piece frame is also available for the:
- 4' long x 7' high overhead alley spreader
- 8' long x 10' high overhead alley spreader
The four piece alley spreaders are 10' and 12' tall
The 10′ long x 8′ high spreader (item #1690), is commonly used to control the width of the lead-up working alley just before the crowding tub.
If you plan to work your livestock from horseback you will prefer the taller 10′ or 12′ high overhead spreader frames.
An alternative to the overhead alley spreader is the U-Spreader.
